Hello friends,

Following the advice of many artists out there who share their journey and experiences, I learnt that a lot of these artists participated in monthly challenges and whether their work was accepted or declined, these challenges opened a new horizon and brought a whole new spectrum to their artistic work, not only was a lot of fun, but also it was a learning path and in many instance a door opened up for them..

So, the other day while browsing on the net I thought of it and searched for monthly challenges and found one that it suited my non-experience skills on these matters. This monthly challenge is taking place at the Sprinkle of Imaginations blog in UK. The deadline is very close, (12th Dec 2013), but I wanted to have a go because they give you a pallete of colours you must use. The colours given are very nice, but the problem for me was that I did not have any of them and had to get an approximate looking like by mixing what I had… It was a difficult task, but…

Here is the images (sorry about the quality, the look a bit blurred!) of the creation of the card I am presenting to this challenge (I must finish it by tomorrow!)… I hope you like it…, I used watercolours and inks with butterflies dies and stamps..

Yes, we all can.., we all can fly to new places and experiences because as LeeAnn Taylor says:

I decided to stress the edges for a more organic, unusual and hand-made look..

I had very little time to make this card and I am not expecting to win this challenge, just participating and having pushed myself to the limit to produce something of value on the deadline given, it has been totally worth it.. It’s about playing and enjoying the ride, isn’t it?.. and I know that:

Today is 12 december 2013, the dead line for submissions, so I finalised the card yesterday with no major changes, just adding a bit of colour to the stressed edges of the card and a bit of colour also in the title, which I thought it was very predominant in ‘white’..

I mounted the piece of watercolour paper on a card stock and stamped the word ‘FLY’ inside the card, which unfortunately in the rush, I  forgot to take a picture of it.. 😦

Anyway, it turned to be a long process after all,  from thinking in the design to the finished product…,  but I enjoyed very much… It was all worth it..
