Life is like a cup of tea, is all in how you make it
Dear friends and the Universe,
Lately my posts are written out of the inspiration I get from the projects I create for the two challenges blogs I am currently taking part as one of the Designers Team members.. This week is with Brown Sugar Challenge Blog and the theme is ‘colour’, we must use a palette consisting of one dark purple, two different blues, two different browns, and one gray.. The sponsor providing the digital image is Dr. Digi, and here is the watermark of the digital image I had to work with:
I found this image very funny and soothing to work with..
Keeping faithful to my blog’s purpose about sharing with you my intuitive painting journey while on the path of awakening my consciousness, and hopefully helping/healing others on the way, I would like to share with you the following unknown quote which, once again, brings my heart to the centre of attention to remind me of what is really important in this life… We should never forget that we are here (in this plane) just passing by, and to do it through happiness should be our quest..
Life is like making a tea!
Boil your Ego,
Evaporate your Worries,
Dilute your Sorrows,
Filter your mistakes, and
Get a Taste of happiness…
While trying to develop the idea of what to create, and being aware of how hectic my life is at the moment, with hardly no time (and this is being very positive!) for anything at all…, and just when I begun to feel the pressure (by choice, in this case of course!) of having to submit my project on time, today, (two days ago I was writing this post and had not done a single sketch for the submission!!!), the following words gave me the strength I just needed…
“A Woman is like a teabags, you can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water.”
– E. Roosevelt
So, never better said, I thought: KEEP CALM AND HAVE A CUP OF TEA.. hahahaha…., which I did… and while I was sipping my tea and looking at my digital image, the idea of incorporating a fireplace closed to the image (I always loved steering at the fire ever since I was very little, and have been fortunate enough to have one in most of the houses I have lived in) felt great, so I draw it..
I kept playing with the layout, but with no a clear idea of the outcome..
Finally, I coloured the image with colouring pencils (Prisma).. I cut my own drawing of the fireplace and glue them onto watercolour paper to add some watercolour effect in some places… I worked further on the brick of the fire place and tried different colours to give it the ‘old-rustic’ feeling, I still kept closed to the colours given in the palette… The word ‘happiness’ kept coming up while finalising the last touches so I glue it on the top.. I hope you liked the final piece..
Thank you so much for reading this post, I hope you enjoyed and took something out of it… 🙂
I leave you with the following ‘saying’:
May you always have walls for the wind, roof for the rain, tea besides the fire, laughter to cheer you, those you love near you, and all your heart may desire.
