What a cute little Teddy

Dear friends and kind Universe,

This is a sweet project I created last week for my contribution as a DT member for one of the craft challenges sites I design for… Unfortunately I couldn’t finish it on time to submit it, and although I don’t think is still finished, I felt it was cute enough to share with you..

Apparently the teddy bear toy was developed simultaneously by toymakers Morris Michtom in the US and Richard Steiff in Germany in the early years of the 20th century, and named after one of the greatest American Presidents, Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt, Jr., (who won the 1906 Nobel Peace Prize and who’s face adorns Mount Rushmoree alongside those of George Washington, Thomas Jeffersonn, and Abraham Lincoln). The teddy bear became an iconic children’s toy, celebrated in stories, songs and films.  Teddy bears are among the most popular gifts for children and are often given to adults to signify love, congratulations or sympathy. I loveeeeeeeeee  ‘teddies’, don’t’ you??? There is a lovely children book called ‘I love my Teddy’ my son likes very much (you can listen to it in YouTube also)…

Reflecting on the above words really inspired me to create something of substance… So, I begun to put colour on my digi, with promarkers this time, hoping to get an insight of what to create in the meantime…

Teddy bears don’t need hearts as they are already stuffed with love.”  Unknown

and I did, the vivid image of the teddy bear inside a tree was a lovely scene came into mind… Hence, I begun  sketching my tree trunk.. Here is my first and quick preliminary thought (and since I am always running out of time, I sketched it at the office during my lunch break….shhhhhh..)

Thank you so much for popping in today….xxx

(P.S. Yes, I love hearing from with you and sharing your thoughts and ideas, but I don’t like to say it because deep down I am very shy!!))
