WoW!.. The Game of Life

Dear friends and the Universe,

Most people consider life a battle, but it is not a battle, it is a game.” – Florence Scovel Shinn

I’ve just finalised listening to The Game of Life and How to Play it (1925) by Florence Scovel Shinn (1871-1940)… Great listening!.. It was very enjoyable..

I felt so much in unison  with its content that I wanted to share it with you..  There is a free ‘pdf’ version, if you are interested just follow this link http://www.psicounsel.com/thegameoflife.pdf

An overwhelming urge to create her portrait took over me, so I begun to throw color onto a piece of watercolor paper, sketching away and, as usual, I totally forgot taking images of the process, so sorry!.. As my urge for creating art subsided and the everyday life pull me back into deep waters, this work has been left as is, but I hope you still like it..

This is a very quick impression, and as you can see its a very personal interpretation of the real photograph below which I took as a reference… My intention was not to create an identical portrait but a feeling of the writer behind the wisdom..

You all know my believe in  ‘positive thinking’, guess what, Florence’s  philosophy is centered on the power of positive thoughts.. :))

“We should have signs in the subways and shops “Watch your thoughts!” “Watch your words!” –Florence Scovel Shinn

I noticed how much of the content of this book resonated with me.. I observed feelings exhilarated by a sense of purpose.. My vibration was being raised by the words coming into my ears.. so, I kept on listening and as you know, it’s at night time that I read, draw, write etc. Yes, after my boy falls asleep the so called ‘me-time’ begins.. So, as usual, I deprived myself from sleep and finished this listening in a couple of nights…:))..

“The invisible forces are ever working for man who is always ‘pulling the strings’ himself, thought he does not know it.  Owing the vibratory power of words, whatever man voices, he begins to attract.” – Florence Scovel Shinn

WoW!, what a powerful quote, eh?.. When you think that so many years ago this amazing lady was already writing and sharing with the world such spiritual teachings that nowadays so many minds are in alignment with…

She was also an Artist and she happen to become a metaphysical writer in her middle years.. The Game of Life was her first self-published book, and she was fifty-four years old at that time… How wonderful is that?…This fact is very encouraging for me..  It’s never too late to do anything we feel or desire to do.. We just have to listen to our intuition, which literally means learning from within.

“Intuition is a Spiritual Faculty and does not explain, but simply points the way” – (FSS)

Intuition is our soul, our spirit and they know exactly what we really want to become, so we can fully trust without a doubt.   We live in a world full of distractions and perhaps by listening more to our inner, or ‘gut’ feeling, we can open the door to everything that matters.  As they say, our brain can play tricks, our heart can blind, but our gut feeling is always right.. :).. Paying attention to our gut feeling is very important  because no matter how good something look, but if it doesn’t feel right, then we must walk away..   “Prayer is telephoning to God, and intuition is God telephoning to you” – FSS

Yes, so much has been written on metaphysics since 1925… Now days many spiritual teachers are continuously showcasing and demonstrating the secrets of life, but still many of us doubt because we can’t see immediate results.. I believe to be true what Florence says:   “Your Word is your Wand. The Words you speak create your own Destiny…”

This book is certainly a timeless message and Florence has the ability to explain success principles and how they work in an entertaining style.. Today, her writings are still considered the leaders in prosperity literature..

Thanks Florence, here is my tribute to you.  A postcard going to heaven for you, I hope you like it.

I decided to write this last quote in Spanish and French to share further its essence and wisdom. (My knowledge of French is very limited so please forgive me if my translation is not exactly a hundred per cent)..

“Aquel que conoce el poder de la palabra  pone mucha atención a su conversación. Vigila las reaciones causadas por sus palabras, pues sabe que ellas no retornarán al mismo punto sin haber causado su efecto.”FSS

Celui qui connaît le pouvoir de le mot paie beaucoup d’attention à leur conversation. Regardez les réactions causées par ses paroles, sachant qu’ils ne reviendront pas au même point sans avoir provoqué son effet” – FSS

Thank you all for being here, I feel so grateful that you stopped by to read these words.. I really hope was worth it.. :))..

Namaste..xx
